EMCS Functions Quick Guide

Enable EMCS

Key Off

Cruise Off

Key On (Engine OFF)

Cruise On

Turn the key off.

Turn off cruise control.

Turn car to on position with engine off.

Turn cruise control on.

Unlock ECU or Disable Anti-Theft

EMCS must be enabled.

Enter Digit (Set)

Register Digit (Cancel)

Confirmation Blink

Press the set button corresponding to the digits of your security code.

Example: If your first digit is 5, press set 5 times.

Press cancel then on to register the digit.

Repeat step 1 and 2 for each digit in your security code.

Example: If your code is 5-2-3-2

Digit 5: Set, Set, Set, Set, Set
Register 5: Cancel

Digit 2: Set, Set
Register 2: Cancel

Digit 3: Set, Set, Set
Register 3: Cancel

Digit 2: Set, Set
Register 2: Canceln

The EPC and CEL will flash back and forth when you have successfully entered your security code!

Select Program

EMCS must be enabled and unlocked.

Hold Set

1-4 Blinks Per Second

Release

Confirmation*

Hold Set.

The CEL will blink, pause and repeat.

  • Program 1 - 1 blink
  • Program 2 - 2 blinks
  • Program 3 - 3 blinks
  • Program 4 - 4 blinks

When it's flashing the number of times per second equal to the program slot you want, release the set button.

*Only Some Models

The EPC light blinks 1 to 4 times indicating the program you selected.

If you get this confirmation, skip the steps below. You may start the car and go.

Key On

Turn the key to the off position and wait 10 seconds.

Turn the key to the on position and wait till the EPC and CEL stop flashing.

Turn the key off.

Turn the key on and go!

Lock ECU

EMCS must be enabled and unlocked.

Hold Resume

3 Blinks Per Second

Release

Confirmation

Hold Resume.

The CEL will flash, pause and repeat.

Let go of resume when the CEL is flashing 3 time per second.

The EPC and CEL will flash back and forth to confirm the ECU is locked out.

Enable Anti-Theft

EMCS must be enabled and unlocked. No more than 1.5 seconds can elapse between each step below. This may be preformed with the vehicle running.

Confirmation

Anti-Theft will run the next time the key is cycled. The CEL will flash indicating anti-theft is enabled.

Run Fault Code Erase

EMCS must be enabled and unlocked.

Hold Resume

1 Blink Per Second

Release

Hold Resume.

The CEL will flash, pause and repeat.

Let go of resume when the CEL is flashing 1 time per second.

Run Throttle Body Alignment

EMCS must be enabled and unlocked. Engine must be cold. Only available on 1.8T, 2.7T, 4.2T, 24V VR6 and first generation 3.2L VR6.

Hold Resume

2 Blinks Per Second

Release

Hold Resume.

The CEL will flash, pause and repeat.

Let go of resume when the CEL is flashing 2 time per second.
